Similar to Google Earth, MSN Virtual Earth, YAHOO! Maps allows you to easily find road maps, satellite maps and hybrids (combination of satellite maps with roads and other features overlayed). YAHOO! Maps has recently updated and added some new features: Get There Faster: Entering Addresses and a map showing the location will be displayed. Right Click Drive-To gives you detailed driving directions from one location to another location. You don't even have to know the address. Multiple-Point Directions allow you to get directions to several locations. Navigate Your Way: Mini-Map allows you to use a small map to more accurately find a location. Drag and Zoom by using your mouse to move the map and zoom in or out. Be In The Know: Local Search gives you the ability to type in a store or restaurant and a map is displayed with all sites and locations that meet your criteria. Real Time Traffic displays accidents, road construction and traffic delays. Satellite Imagery gives you the ability to toggle between road maps and satellite imagery or a hybrid of the two. Take It To Go: Printing allows you to print directions and maps easily. Email your map to anyone at anytime. Send To Phone allows you to send a set of backup directions to your cell phone. |
We found the new map features on YAHOO! Maps easy to use, accurate and definitely
useful for local search and finding points of interest.
