Google Earth - Google had a very simple idea - a globe that sits inside your computer. Just use
your cursor to point and zoom to anyplace in the world. Satellite images and local facts show up on your screen. You can use Google search to examine local
points of interest and to gather information. You can even go to a specific
address to look at your house, apartment or vacation condo on Maui. You can also
get driving directions to friends and relatives. Change angles and you can even
"fly" along the route. Google Earth is free for personal use. No registration is required. You may (optionally) choose to upgrade to Google Earth Plus. The latest Google Earth release is Beta 4. Google has added several new features to enhance your exploration of earth. One of the most obvious features is the new interface which is easier to use. Tools are available in the toolbar and navigation fades from view when not in use. KML is the is the file format that Google Earth uses to share and add data. Changes in the way that KML is loaded now allow you to overlay large data sets without freezing up your computer. Google Earth has been released in French, Italian, German, and Spanish.
