Guide To Vehicle Technology
The advances in electronics technology have contributed to the new technology found in cars, trains, ships and planes.  The intergration of GPS, microchips, computers, wireless, and  nanotechnology have turned our vehicles into "our second home".
What is your dream car? Many people dream of owning and driving the car of the future.  Concept cars developed by the auto industry allow us to visualize what the car of the future might look like.  Most concept cars are for show only, but they showcase the technology that is possible.  Where do you find these concept cars?

MotorTrend is a great place to look at concept vehicles and their list includes:
Concept Convertibles:
Chevrolet Kappa - Return of the Sting Ray?
Camaro Convertible - To compete with the Ford Mustang?

Concept Hybrids:
Saab Aero-X - A hybrid born from jets!
GM Hy-wire - Hydrogen hybrid.

Get a sneak peek at the latest concept car designs from all manufacturers at
Motor Trend Magazine. Read reviews, view illustrations, car designs, and more to get a clear view of all concept cars.
Another Web site that reviews future and concept cars is Edmunds Inside Line. They traveled to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas and reviewed the Cool Car Tech at the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show. You can also find highlights to the 2007 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) - formerly known and still referred to as the "Detroit Auto Show". Check out the NAIAS hightlights and NAIAS photo gallery and video at Inside Line.
The military has always been a leader in the use of advanced technology. The U.S. Army Research Laboratory’s Vehicle Technology Directorate (VTD) is the principal Army organization for research and development in vehicle propulsion and structures.  VTD conducts innovative research in propulsion, transmission, structures, and aeromechanics to provide the Army with lighter, more reliable, and more fuel-efficient air and ground combat vehicles.
Business Week Online has a great auto review section that reviewed the new hybrid cars. They review the Toyota Prius and Highlander, Honda Accord and Civic and the Lexus RX 400h.
The Lexus LS is the car that parallel parks itself.  You have probably heard about the self parking, but have you seen the video?  Take a look! (You will may need broadband or high speed internet to play the video).  The list of new technology Lexus has put into the Lexus LS is amazing:
