Toshiba has developed a prototype direct methanol fuel cell, or DMFC, that it says will
end the need for rechargeable batteries on portable PCs. The new fuel cell has an average output of 12 watts and a maximum output of 20 watts, and gives about 5 hours of operation with 50 milliliters of fuel, Toshiba said in a statement Wednesday. It runs on replaceable methanol cartridges, Toshiba said. Available 2004? |

Casio Japan just released a new watch model in their WVA series that looks looks like a normal
wrist watch but is loaded with new technology. It is an atomic clock that synchronizes several times a day via radio waves (see our atomic clock site on our home page). This means you will always be on time and it works in the US and Japan. It also automatically manages the display backlight so it only comes on when it is dark and you turn your arm to look at the time. Finally, it is solar powered! No batteries need to be changed.
